Basic Rider Course (BRC)
This Basic Rider Course is designed for beginning motorcyclist emphasizing the special skills and mental attitude necessary for navigating traffic. In the Basic Rider Course, you will learn basic motorcycling, including clutch control, braking, shifting, avoiding obstacles and hazards, passing, lane positions and lane changes.
The Basic Rider Course is a 17–hour weekend course, which consists of the following: 4–hour classroom training, starting on Friday and 3–hour classroom on Saturday, with 5–hours of actual motorcycle operator training on Saturday and Sunday.
Motorcycles are provided by Crescent City Motorcycle Training. Students MUST supply their own riding gear, which consists of the following:
- Motorcycle helmet (DOT certified-minimum)
- Eye protection (face shield, glasses, and goggles)
- Long sleeves and long pants
- Boots (over–the–ankle footwear)
- Gloves (full fingered)
- Rain Gear (in the event of rain)
- Sunscreen
Upon successful completion of the Basic Rider Course, students will receive the following: a certificate and card, which will waive the riding portion at the Department of Motor Vehicle and insurance discounts offered by many insurance companies on motorcycle premiums. (Contact your insurance agent for verification purposes.) The cost of this course is $300.00.

Experience Rider Course (ERC)
The Experienced Rider Course is designed for the motorcyclist that wants to hone their mental and physical skills. The course includes on-range discussion of techniques for managing risks traction and increasing visibility. The range exercises include cornering, braking, and swerving techniques using student–owned motorcycles. Courses are usually held on Saturday or Sunday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Motorcycle licenses and street legal motorcycles required.
Any size street legal motorcycle may be accepted in the course. Motorcycle must be insured, registered, and inspected. The cost of this course is $150.00.

Scooter School
The Scooter Basic Rider Course is a research–based and action-oriented core curriculum designed to teach beginning scooterists of all ages the physical and mental skills necessary to ride safely on the street. It includes basic scooter operation, maximum effective braking techniques, turning skills, obstacle avoidance maneuvers, Approx. 4–6 hours of "on cycle" training.
Rider Coaches for the program are all experienced motorcycle operators who are nationally certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). Scooters are provided by Crescent City Motorcycle Training. You may be entitled to insurance premium discounts through participating insurance companies. The cost of the scooter course is $250.00.
